ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A coalition of leading Chambers of Commerce across New York State have joined forces calling on Congress to re-authorize a ban on assault weapons.
During a virtual news conference on Monday, Chambers of Commerce leaders voiced support for an assault weapon ban introduced in the House in 2021.
The bill, called h-r 18-08, is sponsored by Buffalo Congressman Brian Higgins.
This comes in the wake of two dozen mass shootings across the nation in the past month including the attack in Buffalo that police said was motivated by racism.
