City of Rochester to host free TikTok entrepreneurship boot camp

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The City of Rochester is calling on aspiring social media content creators ages five to 18 to attend ROC City Biz TikTok Boot Camp on Aug. 30.

ROC City Biz TikTok Boot Camp is a free, 5-day learning experience that will help young people increase their social media presence by learning techniques to expand their audience. Additionally, participants will learn how to make money off their social media channels.

The boot camp will take place from Monday, Aug. 30 to Friday, Sept. 3 at the David F. Gantt R-Center on North Street.

“As technology continues to change the face of our economy, it is important that we provide our young people with the skills to harness their ingenuity and help them become successful,” Mayor Lovely Warren said. “The ROC City Biz TikTok Entrepreneurship Boot Camp offers our youth the tools they need to become their own bosses and brings us closer to greater equity, more jobs, safer more vibrant neighborhoods, and better educational opportunities.”

Registration is required and will stay open until the class limit of 30 participants is reached.
