ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The city of Rochester hosted an event Sunday afternoon to specifically encourage children to get outside and play.

The "Play in Nature" event was held in Lower Maplewood Park on the site of the future Maplewood Nature Center, a project currently in development by the city.

Children played nature-themed games and made nature crafts in addition to taking guided walks.

The City of Rochester recently adopted the Rochester Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights or COBOR which provides a list of activities for every child to explore in nature.
