ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A group called "#ColdCaseFiles" hosted a walk in the Conkey Avenue area Saturday to search for information that could help with a cold case.
It took place Saturday at 262 Conkey Ave. CrimeStoppers and Roc the Peace sponsored the walk.
During the "cold case" walk, the group asked for help to solve crimes, even if it has been years since they happened. This morning the group was looking for information related to the murder of Jose Bas back in 1972. Bas was shot on November 1 of that year and passed away from his injuries on November 28.
Sirena cotton, an organizer from Roc the Peace said, "just because it’s a cold case doesn’t mean we can’t warm it up a bit. We need answers. 50 Years, 60 years. It doesn’t matter how long. You know a lot of things changed in the area. A lot of people have moved out and there could be an old granny that stayed over here around that time that may know something."
Investigators say a long wait doesn’t make a case hopeless.
