ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The man convicted of murdering Rochester Police Officer Daryl Pierson had his original conviction affirmed on Friday.
Back in 2014, Pierson was killed on duty as he chased Thomas Johnson III on Hudson Avenue.
Johnson was sentenced to life in prison, but he filed for a dismissal of his aggravated murder of a police officer conviction in December 2021.
District Attorney Sandra Doorley said this case was unanimously affirmed.
