CooperVision to expand Monroe County operations

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — CooperVision plans to expand its operations at two of its Monroe County locations.

The state said the $62 million renovation project will create up to 173 new jobs.

The contact lens manufacturer wants to grow its distribution center in West Henrietta by 150,000 square feet and complete $24 million in renovations on its manufacturing operation in Scottsville.

Both projects are expected to be completed in 2023.

Empire State Development is providing up to $1.5 million in performance-based Excelsior Tax Credits at each project site and RG&E, Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise are assisting as well.

Locally, CooperVision currently employs more than 1,000 people between its West Henrietta, Scottsville and Victor, Ontario County facilities.
