ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A pop-up charity event Saturday morning got people moving and grooving in Rochester.
"She Roars" a local organization, held a cardio dance party at Cobb’s Hill Park which raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester. The group pairs mentors with children who are at-risk in the community.
Organizers tell News10NBC the money raised will be helpful, especially as they try to find more willing volunteers for their cause.
"It’s wonderful to collaborate with such another community-minded agency and the Rochester area that’s looking to give back and obviously the money, like you said, to support mentoring right here in our local communities," Big Brothers Big Sisters CEO Lisa Mattoon said. "We’re so thankful and grateful to that."
