GENEVA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Ten people were taken to the hospital Monday night after deputies say a two-car crash led to eight people standing on a street corner getting hit.

It happened on State Route 14 and Glass Factory Bay in Geneva at around 7:30 p.m.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said Patrick Babb, 24, of Geneva was driving south on State Route 14 when he started turning left on Glass Factory Bay in front of a Honda Civic that was headed north.

Deputies say Babb failed to yield the right of way, hitting the Honda. After the impact deputies say the two cars hit eight people who were standing on the corner of Glass Factory Bay and State Route 14.

Deputies say all eight pedestrians and both drivers were taken to area hospitals, one out of precaution, the rest were injured but are expected to survive.

Babb was cited for reckless driving and failure to yield a left-hand turn according to deputies
