Deputies: 3 charged in Penfield bank robbery, car chase

PENFIELD, N.Y. (WHEC)— The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says three men are facing multiple charges connected to a bank robbery in Penfield Wednesday morning.

The robbery happened at the Key Bank on Penfield Road near Rt.250 just after 10:15 a.m. The men charged include:

  • 26-year-old Ray Quinones: Third-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny robbery. He is currently on parole from a previous robbery/kidnapping conviction.
  • 22 year-od Kadeem Hall: Third-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny.
  • 26-year-old Markiel Smith: Third-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Deputies say after the robbery the three men were spotted in a car in East Rochester. This then led to a chase on I-490 west, which ended with the driver veering off onto 590 north and hitting a guardrail.

Quinones was sent to the Monroe County Jail on a parole violation. Hall was released as part of a non-qualifying offense under bail reform laws. Smith was sent to the MCJ without bail, he is a double predicate felon.
