Dominic Pezzola pleads not guilty to indictment charges

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The local man charged with participating in the riot at the U.S. Capitol pleaded not guilty in DC district court to his new charges on Tuesday.
Dominic Pezzola was recently one of several people named in the indictment against the then-leader of the Proud Boys, Henry "Enrique" Tarrio.
He plead not guilty to his new charges in court Tuesday.
Those documents allege that Dominic Pezzola became a member of the Proud Boys’ "Ministry of Self Defense," and that the group planned an assault on the building on Jan. 6, 2022.

Pezzola was accused of stealing a riot shield from a Capitol Police Officer, charging up the scaffolding stairs at the Capitol Building, and using the shield to smash a window, allowing a wave of people inside it.
