Donuts Delite giving away free ‘bus driver donut’ Tuesday, makes plea for drivers to apply
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — As Rochester schools work out its bus driver situation, a local business is making a push for new drivers to apply, with a sweet incentive to boot.
Donuts Delite Tuesday is giving away its new "Bus Driver Donut" to drivers for free.
The push comes just days after Rochester City School District announced that they will no longer provide transportation for students who participate in the Walker-Bus Program and students who live within a 1.5-mile radius from their school.
On Sunday, the RCSD school board voted unanimously to approve resolution 122 which moved the first day of school to Thursday due to the transportation crisis the district is currently facing.
Both district and bus company leaders will hold meetings Tuesday to address the situation.
The donut promotion runs through 6 p.m.
