SPENCERPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) — A video of a Spencerport School District administrator continues to get a lot of attention on social media and lots of division.

The video shows Steve Lysenko, an assistant principal, using crude language while protesting Daniel Prude’s death.

On a social media post on Saturday, the district apologized to parents and students for Lysenko’s language.

Now, two separate petitions have gone up, with one supporting him and another calling for him to be fired.

As of Sunday night, the petition to keep Lysenko in the district had more signatures.

In a statement, the school district said the situation is being addressed as a confidential personnel matter.
