Eastman School of Music celebrating its 100th anniversary

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music is celebrating its 100th anniversary this week.

It was founded by namesake George Eastman in 1921 and commemorated on March 4, 1922.

The school’s Marmonie Wind Ensemble will perform at the Monroe County Office Building at 1 p.m. Thursday to mark the occasion.

The school is also holding a ribbon-cutting event on Friday at 9 a.m. in Lowry Hall on 26 Gibbs St. to ceremoniously usher in its next 100 years.
