Fairport local is not ‘The Weakest Link’

FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Fairport resident celebrates after a big win on the game show "The Weakest Link."

Sean Maher of Fairport appeared on "The Weakest Link" Sunday night. It was a big adventure that got bigger still— he won—and comes home with $45,000.

"I sent in a video. They make you send in a video and then I got an email back from a producer a month later and she says ‘we liked your video. We want to talk to you’. So I do a series of video interviews so they get to know you. They also quiz you. They want to make sure you’ve got the knowledge before you go on it, and soon after that I find out I’m getting a free trip to Los Angeles," said Maher.

Maher said being on the weakest link was a childhood dream of his. When the show went off the air, he was hoping it would return, and then when it did, he made sure to take a shot at joining it.
