Fatal car crash in Yates County, one dead

TORREY, N.Y. (WHEC) – A Penn Yan man is dead after a head-on collision on Tuesday morning.

Yates County Sheriff’s Office says that around 8:15 a.m., Lawrence A. Jepsen, 62, was traveling south on SR14 near Lampman Road in the town of Torrey when his vehicle crossed the centerline into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a construction vehicle.

Jepsen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the construction vehicle, Dee Kerrick Jr., 72, Torrey, did not sustain any injuries.

The Yates County Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and the collision is still under investigation.
