Finger Lakes region’s COVID-19 positive test rate inches upward
ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — Governor Kathy Hochul provided an update on New York State’s response to COVID-19. It includes the positive coronavirus test rate in the Finger Lakes region continuing its upward trend.
The governor’s office reports that the Finger Lakes region had the following positive test rates: Thursday, 4.51%, Friday, 4.55%, and Saturday 4.68%. The Finger Lakes region includes Monroe County and nine other counties: Wayne, Ontario, Livingston, Yates, Seneca, Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming counties.
The statewide percent positive rate is 3.04% of 179,025 tested.
Across New York, 29 people died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In the past seven days, 344,976 residents received a coronavirus vaccine. 81.4% of New Yorkers 18 or older have at least one vaccine dose.
66.7% of all eligible New Yorkers have at least one vaccine dose.
