ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Attorney General Letitia James is handing out money to counties for their battle with the opioid epidemic.
Monday she started her "HealNY" Tour in Long Island and New York City.
The state has up to $1.5 billion to give out following lawsuits against drug manufacturers and distributors.
The Finger Lakes region is set to receive at least $28 million, but that number could grow to more than $52 million.
The funds come from different settlements James negotiated after her March 2019 lawsuit against the various manufacturers and distributors she argued were responsible for the opioid crisis.
