Firefighters respond to house fire

ROCHESTER, N.Y (WHEC) — Rochester firefighters responded to a house fire Saturday evening.

The fire occurred at 120 Seneca Ave. Five occupants and three pets were able to escape the fire unharmed.

According to fire officials, the fire originated in the kitchen, which they say was destroyed. The rest of the house received smoke and water damage, and the fire was under control in 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire appears to be an accidental cooing fire, according to RFD fire investigators. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
