ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – When you factor in all the possible ingredients in our weather today, it was near perfect conditions for the middle of summer. A large area of high pressure is firmly in control across the region with the pleasant weather likely continuing into Sunday. Looking ahead to the first week of August there will be several opportunities for 90 degrees or higher in Western New York.

Tonight will bring clear, starlit skies with a low temperature near 60 degrees. Sunday will feature partly to mostly sunny skies. It will be a little bit warmer with the mercury rising into the middle 80s. Monday brings more sunshine and more heat as the temperature reaches within a few degrees of 90. Then a few showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday night into Tuesday. This weak cold front will knock down the heat for Tuesday with the high temperature near 80 degrees. At this point, it appears the News 10NBC First Alert weather team will continue with a green alert status as, at this time, thunderstorms do not appear to be severe. However, the News 10NBC First Alert Weather Team will continue to track these storms over the coming days and alert you to any changes.

Get ready for more high heat in the middle of the week. More sunshine is expected for Wednesday and Thursday as it is more than likely that the Rochester area will be near 90 degrees for both days.

Stay tuned to News 10NBC First Alert for any updates on the forecast.
