ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — After a few light showers on Monday morning, things will begin to dry out towards the middle of the day.

It couldn’t hurt to grab the umbrella out the door as the morning showers roll through, but most are very light. After a cloudy and showery start to our day, the sun will return Monday afternoon.

A warm front will lift to our north Monday afternoon and let temperatures warm up with highs in the mid and low 80s. Dew points will rise just a bit to near 60 degrees late Monday afternoon and with that will come the opportunity for an isolated shower or storm.

Most of us Monday evening will be dry, but an isolated storm could pop during the evening commute. After an isolated shower or storm this evening, our rain chances will increase as we move into Tuesday.

A cold front will approach and swing through Tuesday, providing a good chance for widespread rain. Umbrella’s and raincoats will be needed tomorrow with the rain in the forecast.

Early Tuesday morning, we will see isolated to scattered showers across our region before widespread rain arrives towards the middle of the day. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible, as well as heavy rain at times.

Widespread rain begins to taper after 3 in the afternoon Tuesday, but a few scattered to isolated rain showers will be possible through the evening hours before things dry out. This cold front will also bring another round of cool weather with highs in the low 70s tomorrow and a drop in the dew points expected behind the front.

Then after a break in the wet weather Wednesday, things will once again turn unsettled with another chance for widespread rain Thursday as another wave of low pressure moves in locally.
