First Alert Weather: Beautiful end to the workweek, rain returns Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Another beautiful and comfortable day all across Rochester and the Finger Lakes.

Temperatures today reached the low to mid-70s and there was plenty of sunshine across the entire region. As we head into the evening, it will be another comfortable evening to spend some time going for a walk, firing up the grill (without breaking a sweat), or enjoying a drink on the patio. Evening temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s and overnight lows will drop into the upper 50s. Areas in Livingston, Ontario, and Yates Counties will be even cooler.

To close out the workweek, temperatures will, once again, reach the mid to upper 70s and there will be a healthy amount of sunshine all across the region. Enjoy the considerably bluer sky because some of that wildfire smoke will be streaming back into our region by the weekend.

For Saturday, we will start off with some sunshine and then the clouds will increase. The first half of the day should be good for outdoor activities but we will start to see some rain filtering in by the early afternoon and evening. There will be the potential of some steadier downpours and some isolated thunderstorms during the heat of the day. Temperatures will be warming up as we check back into the low to mid-80s with gradually increasing humidity.

Also by late Saturday and early Sunday, we will start to see the return of some wildfire smoke across the region and that is going to bring the haze back into Rochester and the Finger Lakes.
