ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — After several days of dry, sunny weather the showers are returning to Western New York.

A front will move across the area later tonight and this will increase the likelihood of rain. Then another low-pressure system will move across the lower great lakes for late Tuesday and early Wednesday. This will bring the second round of wet weather to the Rochester area.

Tonight look for the chance of off-and-on passing showers. There is even the chance of a little thunder south of Rochester. It will not be as chilly as the last few nights with the low temperature near 50 degrees. Monday any isolated showers should end by mid-day with a few breaks of sunshine possible later in the afternoon. The expected high temperature is in the lower 60s.

Tuesday will feature partial sunshine with an increasing chance of a rain shower by late in the day. It will be a warm day with a high temperature in the upper 60s. Then it appears to be a high probability of wet weather Tuesday night with occasional rain and maybe some thunder. The low temperature is near 50 degrees. Expect a slow drying trend with any lingering showers ending Wednesday morning and skies will be brightening in the afternoon. The high temperature will be near 60 degrees. The News 10NBC First Alert meteorologists expect partial sunshine for Thursday, but it will be cooler with the mercury only in the upper 50s.
