First Alert Weather: Warmer and wet at times this weekend
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Welcome to October! Friday was slightly below average in the temperature department but saw a return to sunshine, which we will keep going into the weekend.
Saturday morning starts off near 50, so it’ll be a cool and comfortable night, without the same chill from recent nights. We’ll warm quickly, with highs making their way into the mid, maybe some upper 70s with dry weather and a mix of clouds and sun.
We’ll see some changes by Sunday morning. Scattered showers will develop through the morning hours, giving way to some pockets of rain during the afternoon/evening. So, while Sunday won’t see rain all day, you’ll have to plan outdoor activities around off and on wet weather. Highs on Sunday will hold near 70.
A warmer week: Much of next week will be spent slightly warmer than average, with highs into the lower 70s much of the time. But, it’ll come with some more wet weather. Monday will likely be the wettest day, with periods of rain, tapering into Tuesday. Wednesday may be mainly dry, but we’ll be keeping an eye on another batch of rain trying to move in from the south by Thursday.
Bottom line: After a cool end to September, we’ll flipping the script and feeling a return to milder air for the first week or two of October.
