Foreigner looking for chorus to open for them at Great New York State Fair
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Foreigner is performing at the Great New York State Fair this year and presenting an exciting opportunity for one junior high, high school or college chorus to perform before them on the Chevy Park stage.
The band is set to take the stage at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28. All Chevrolet Music Festival Concerts are free with admission to the New York State Fair.
The chorus would perform a set that is no longer than 10 minutes, 30 minutes before the show. Content is up to the chorus, though the band says they are not prevented from performing its hit "I Want To Know What Love Is", which features a choral refrain at the end.
The band is capping the size to a maximum of 25 members on stage and due to COVID, there will be no pictures or meet and greet with the band.
To enter, choruses must submit audio or video of at least one of their performances and fill out this online form in full.
The winning chorus will be chosen at random and will be contacted by The Fair, which will also announce the winner on its social media account. The band will also donate $500 to the winning chorus and the fair will provide up to four admission passes per chorus member, staff member and chaperone, along with enough parking passes for each vehicle.
The chorus will be responsible for its own transportation and housing.
