GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — Former Gates Police Chief James VanBrederode is officially launching his campaign for New York State Senate.
VanBrederode retired in January after 37 years in law enforcement, including his tenure as president of the Monroe County Chief’s Association for four years.
Last month, News10NBC reported that he was exploring a run for state senate against Democratic Stat Sen. Jeremy Cooney, who represents New York’s 56th Senate District.
VanBrederode will be making the official announcement with former state senator Joe Robach on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
