Garage fire shuts down portion of Washington Street in Ogden

OGDEN, N.Y. (WHEC) — Ogden Police say a portion of a road around town was shut down Monday due to a fire investigation.

OPD said Washington Street (Route 36) was closed between Chambers and Colby Streets for some time Monday but has since reopened.

In a post on social media Monday, you could see flames and smoke coming from a small building.

Spencerport officials say it was a garage fire and everything inside was destroyed.

They are still investigating the cause.
