Gates Police: Enough rain to go fishing in town, be alert for flooded areas

GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gates Police got people talking about fishing with some streets in town flooding.

They said in a social media post they’ve seen fish wash up on their streets, some bass spotted along Landau Drive, and jokingly urged residents of the town to grab their fishing poles.

The police department is asking drivers to look out for areas of flash flooding as streams and ponds potentially extend beyond their banks due to run-off from this weekend’s rain.
