Good boy! Dog credited with alerting Canandaigua woman and grandson of house fire
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A dog is being credited with alerting people about a fire inside their Canandaigua home.
Firefighters say because of that, an elderly woman, her grandson, and the dog were able to get out safely.
It happened at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on Canandaigua-Farmington Townline Road.
Firefighters say they found flames in the attic and there were no working smoke detectors.
The Red Cross is helping the family with temporary housing.
