Good Question: Will the winter village and ice rink open this year?

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Here’s a Good Question about making holiday plans: A viewer wanted to know: "Is the city of Rochester hosting the winter village and ice rink this year?"

Number 1— The ROC Holiday Village, as we’ve told you before, has been called off. The goal is to bring it back in 2021.

Number 2– Good news for those of you looking to take the family ice skating.

The outdoor rink at MLK park is scheduled to open on Saturday, Nov. 21, pending CDC guidelines and weather.

There will be rules. As it stands now, just 125 skaters per session, and everyone will have to have a mask.

City officials say they are working on the final details and will give an update soon.
