Governor Hochul’s office provides latest COVID data for New York state
ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — Here is the Saturday update on the state’s response to COVID-19 from Governor Hochul: The COVID positive test rate across New York state was 3.08%. The 7-day average is 3.32%. Total vaccine doses administered in New York State: 61, 932 over the past 24 hours, 345,771 over the past seven days and 23,533,155 to date.
The positive COVID test rate in the Finger Lakes region – which includes Rochester and Monroe County – was 4.22% on Wednesday, 4.50% Thursday, and 4.40% on Friday.
In a prepared statement, Governor Hochul said, "We came together to help keep each other safe at the height of the pandemic, and we have to keep that collective spirit going while this virus and its Delta variant remain a threat. Get vaccinated, wear a mask, follow the basic safety guidelines – that’s how we beat the virus."
The state says Monroe County had one death from the coronavirus and 174 COVID positive tests.
