Gusty winds slowly ease tonight

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Yellow Alert has expired as gusty winds will subside this evening.

We’ve seen winds west of Rochester gusting close to 60 mph at times Monday afternoon and evening, with some isolated power outages across Monroe County. These winds will slowly die down by midnight, with the strongest gusts moving away. Until then, some isolated power outages continue to be a possibility.

If you took down, or waited to put up, any holiday decorations, Tuesday will feature less wind, and you should be able to put those decorations back up. The wind will be gusting 20-25 mph through early afternoon, before easing. Wind Advisories remain up through 10PM for much of our area.

The First Alert Weather Team issues a Yellow Alert to give you a heads up to upcoming minor to moderate impact weather.
