Hair products recalled due to cancer-causing chemical

Proctor & Gamble is voluntarily recalling dozens of prodcuts that could contain the chemical benzene.

Bezene is classified as a human carcinogen and can result in cancers like leukemia, as well as life-threatening blood disorders.

The company says that the "vast majority" of its products are not included in the recall. Products that are recalled inlcude aerosol dry shampoos and conditioners from Pantene, Herbal Essences, Aussie, and Old Spice.

Proctor & Gamble says that anyone with one of these products at home should toss it right away. It’s offering to reimburse customers who fill out a claim form and provide proof of purchase. This isn’t the first time products have been recalled because of harmful benzene. Over the summer, Johnson & Johnson recalled several aerosol sunscreens from Neutrogena and Aveeno brands.
