ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Health and wellness experts here in Rochester are urging parents to get their kids screened early.
"Get Ready to Grow" is a new community effort by the Children’s Institute to increase awareness of the importance of developmental health screenings.
Organizers say it’s best because, a lot of times, parents wouldn’t know if their child needs help.
"I know there’s a lot of parents out there that think their child is ok and that they do not need the services but then when the child gets evaluated that’s when they notice oh yeah he needs services," Ibero Children and Family Stability Services Director Ida Perez said.
They say early detection and service has a huge impact on our community’s children, and their families.
