ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Christopher Williams appeared in court after police arrested him for two fatal shootings in Rochester, including Tuesday night’s murder on Roycroft Drive.
Williams, a parolee, was charged with two counts of murder and multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty to those charges during his arraignment in court on Thursday.
The Rochester Police Department said that Williams got into a fight with and killed 26-year-old Kenneth Johnson inside his home on Roycroft drive. There were several people at Johnson’s home when the shots went off.
After Johnson was shot in the upper body, police rushed to the scene at around 10:30 p.m. Johnson was taken to Strong Hospital, where he died.
RPD said that Williams also fatally shot 47-year-old Marcus J. Bennett on July 16 while in the backyard of a home on Sixth Street. Police alleged that Williams got into a fight and killed Bennett as guests were over.
When Bennett was shot multiple times, he died at the scene. Police responded at around 9:30 p.m.
U.S. Marshals arrested Williams at his home in Irondequoit. RPD said Williams had absconded parole before his arrest.
