ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York Gov. Kathy Hochul gave remarks at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church in New York City on Wednesday night.
This comes as the conflict in Ukraine enters its seventh day, and as Catholics mark Ash Wednesday.
"We stand together to open up the arms of our statue of liberty to all Ukrainians who want to come here for refuge as we work to rebuild the country after driving the Russians out."
She said that’s what will happen.
Hochul said she’s signed an Executive Order stating New York will not do business with any Russian interests and welcoming Ukrainian refugees.
