ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — If you pass a school bus illegally, you get a fine.

New legislation signed Friday by Gov. Kathy Hochul will take a portion of that fine money and put it toward a school bus motorist education fund.

The fund will be a resource to further discourage drivers from illegally passing stopped school buses.

It will also be used to provide grants for the study of this issue, and to reduce the number of violations.
