ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A big ridge of high pressure has settled in across the Great Lakes which is great timing for the holiday weekend. This high-pressure system has brought comfortable temperatures, lower humidity, and abundant sunshine. All the right ingredients for some beautiful weather for Western New York!

Tonight look for clear skies and the temperature slowly falling into the 60s and eventually into the middle 50s. Excellent conditions for any of the area fireworks shows scheduled for this evening. Happy to say this nice weather will continue for your Independence Day. Monday will bring bright sunshine for the morning, then patchy clouds for the afternoon. The temperature will be a little warmer with a high in the lower 80s, but humidity should not be a problem. Monday night will feature more clouds and maybe a spotty shower, but any wet weather should hold off until after midnight. The low temperature will be in the middle 60s.

Tuesday there is a much better chance of a few showers and thundershowers. It will be breezy with much more humidity and a high temperature in the middle 80s. Wednesday another cold front will pass Rochester and that should usher in some cooler and drier weather. The temperature will drop to the upper 70s again.
