Lilac Festival: Week 3

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The 2022 Rochester Lilac Festival is underway! Here is what you need to know for its third and final week.

The 124th edition of the festival returns in a three-week format for the second straight year. The spring event is the largest of its kind in North America and features food vendors, live music, art, exhibitors, and of course—Rochester’s famous lilac gardens.

Spanning three weekends, the full weekend breakdown is:

Week One: May 6-8
Week Two: May 12-15
Week Three: May 19-22

Sunday, May 22

1 p.m. MoChester

The hours are 10:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. daily.

While the event is free, there are a number of ticketed experiences.

SHUTTLE SERVICE:

There will be a shuttle service from Monroe Community College at 1000 E Henrietta Rd. from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday of the festival with pick up and drop off at the corner of South Avenue and Highland Avenue near the entrance to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Adult round trip shuttle cost is $5.00, and children six and under ride free. Handicapped accessible busses are available.

LIVE MUSIC – Everyone can enjoy all of the music at the Lilac Festival for FREE. VIP upgrades are available. Every headliner of the festival will have ASL Interpretation. Format aside, the 2022 edition will see the return of a festival staple: the outdoor music stage. Last year featured live music, but only during the wine and craft beer tastings. Saturday, May 21 Craft Beer Festival

SESSION 1 — VIP: 12 p.m – 4 p.m. | GA: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

SESSION 2 — VIP: 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. | GA: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

The Rochester Lilac Craft Beer Expo features over 40 breweries, craft cider makers, and distilleries. Early-access VIP tickets are $60 ahead of time and $65 the day of and include exclusive vendors, a VIP Can Koozie and VIP Lanyard and GA tickets are $45 ahead of time and $50 the day of. All attendees will get a $5 food voucher to participating food vendors, a free tasting glass, and lawn games. Click here to get tickets.

Sunday, May 22 Lilac Run and Dunkin’ Dash

The Lilac 5K/10K marks the kick-off to the warm weather. The course runs through the suburbs of Brighton with the Start and Finish at Highland Park. The after-party includes music, mimosas, and plenty of food, or runners can keep going with the 1-mile Donut Dash, which includes a donut pit stop. Registration is now live. The Lilac Run benefits Champion Academy, an organization that helps urban teens in poverty overcome their traumatic experiences and use them as fuel to drive their improvement as students, citizens and future professionals.
