ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— News10NBC has gathered police scanner audio that captured the minutes following a deadly shootout between a suspect and Rochester Police Wednesday night.

The audio, courtesy of Broadcastify, details roughly two-and-a-half minutes of communication between officers.

Police went to the scene at a Family Dollar store on West Main Street for an attempted robbery when Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan said two officers met the suspect, and then shots were fired by both police, and the suspect.

Herriott-Sullivan says the two officers were not hurt.

While you can watch the video, we have provided a transcript for you to read. The timecode shown was reflected on the scanner playback, and is not an exact time of the events.

15:28: "I know you are holding air, but we have shots fired on 715 West Main, male down, still has a gun"
15:46: "Can you start EMS, to the Family Dollar on W. Main?"
16:25: " Yeah, do we have a suspect description or anything?
16:36: "213 suspect is down"
16:45 "Can we get a car to keep customers out of the store?
17:29: "It’s only one suspect"
17:47: " I just want to clarify, any officers involved in this?"
17:51: "Yes"

As of Thursday morning, officers are going through both bodycam and surveillance video.

Due to it being a police shooting, the New York State Attorney General’s Office will handle the investigation.
