Livingston County man sentenced to 3 years probation for stealing $100K from ice skating student
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WGRZ/WHEC) — A Livingston County man was sentenced to three years probation after admitting to stealing almost $100,000 from a client while working as an ice skating instructor.
Vincent Van Vliet, 42, of Lima, would alter checks given to him by the student as payment for the lessons to make additional, unauthorized mobile deposits.
The Erie County District Attorney’s office said this happened between December 2018 and December 2019.
Van Vliet pleaded guilty to grand larceny charges in April and has since paid full restitution to the victim.
