Livonia to hold 2nd vote on proposed sports complex, has secured more funding

LIVONIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Livonia Central School District Tuesday took a big step toward funding completing its proposed sports complex: Securing funding.

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Phil Saunders, who attended Livonia, committed $1 million to the project, the district said.

Back in December, the vote on the proposition resulted in a 218 to 218 tie.

The district says Saunders’s gift will allow the district to reduce the tax burden of the project. If approved, the district says the building will be named the Saunders Sports Complex.

Another vote is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 15. Click here for more information about the vote.
