Local florists get Valentine’s Day boost amid supply chain pinch

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Naturally, local florists saw a Valentine’s Day boost Monday.

News10NBC crews stopped by Red Rose Florist and Gift Shop on East Ridge Road in Irondequoit.

They told us online orders have been very popular, but thankfully, the shop had enough workers to get all the orders out the door.

We also asked Sue Ilievski if the shop has been affected by the supply chain crisis.

"A lot of flowers have been harder to get. Supplies have been hard to get," Ilievski said. "The pricing has gone up like everybody dealing with prices, deliveries, shipments, things being stuck on freights somewhere. It’s affected our business, a lot of other businesses."

Their best sellers Monday—roses, chocolates and teddy bears.
