Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to allow in-person spectators again
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Probably hard to think about in September, but the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is just two months away, and now organizers say you’ll be able to see it in person again.
In an announcement Wednesday, organizers said the 95th annual parade will once again allow for the public to be there after last year’s show was only televised.
The plan is to include all the traditional stops including the marching band, cheer, and specialty group performances, and of course, the signature giant character balloons. Last year’s balloons were not handled by people, rather, towed by trucks.
Crews and performers will have to be vaccinated, with some exceptions.
Details on the exact public viewing locations including viewing maps, entry guidelines, and restrictions will be announced in November.
The parade will kick off on Thursday, Nov. 25 beginning at 9:00 a.m., right here on News10NBC.
