ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Monroe County District Attorney said she’s been working hard preparing for the trial of the man that stabbed RPD Officer Denny Wright.

Sandra Doorley said she’s excited to bring Keith Williams’s case in front of a jury and secure justice after more than two years.

Williams rejected a plea deal in January.

Officer Wright suffered severe injuries and lost his eyesight after police say Williams attacked him with a knife while Wright was responding to a domestic call on Peck Street back on Oct. 4, 2019.

The trial is set for April 26.
