Man arrested after two-hour standoff with RPD

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A Rochester man is under arrest after a two-hour standoff with police Tuesday evening.

Rochester Police say they responded to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls around 8 p.m. for reports of shot on the 200 block of Hazelwood Terrace. The investigation led to one house with which RPD surrounded and asked for any residents to exit.

Police say they saw 41-year-old James Cole throw a .38 special revolver out of a window. He eventually exited the house and was taken into custody.

Cole is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon (3rd) and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
