Man convicted in 2019 Rochester murder
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A Monroe County Jury Wednesday convicted a Rochester man in a 2019 murder.
38-year-old Luis Rios Morales was found guilty of 2nd Degree Murder along with various weapon and drug charges.
Morales is accused of shooting Jose Ubiles Melendez in the back of the head at a home on Bay Street on August 29, 2019.
The D.A.’s office reports during the course of the investigation, law enforcement seized six handguns, six shotguns, and five rifles. In addition to the firearms, over 200 grams of suspected cocaine, over 10 pounds of suspected fentanyl, 53 grams of suspected heroin and approximately $10,000 in cash was also seized.
Nine other defendants were arrested on various weapon and drug charges.
These cases have all been resolved.
