Man hospitalized after bullets went through St. Clair Street home

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A 64-year-old man is hospitalized after bullets went through his west Rochester home, which was one of at least four houses shot up overnight.

The Rochester Police Department said the man was in his house on St. Clair Street when there was a gunfight outside around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, near the street’s intersection with Tremont. One of the bullets went through the house and hit the man. An ambulance took the victim to the hospital, where he was treated for a lower-body gunshot wound and is expected to survive.

Just after 11 p.m., gunfire also struck a home on Woodbine Avenue in the southwest. No one was inside the home.

Two homes were hit after midnight. RPD responded to reports of shots fire on Karnes Street around 12:15 p.m. and found that multiple bullets went through a home with two adults and three children inside. All children were under the age of 5.

Also, RPD said at least one bullet flew through a home on Myrtle Street around 1:15 a.m. The home had four adults and five children inside, the youngest being nine.

No one was injured in the two Wednesday morning shootings and no one is in custody. Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
