Man indicted on murder charges for Lyell Avenue shooting

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The man who police say fled to Texas after killing a woman in Rochester was indicted Friday.

Ammenra Felton, 30, of Rochester is accused of shooting and killing 32-year-old Charlotte Thomas back on Jan. 23. She was found lying in the road near the intersection of Lyell Avenue and Child Street.

Felton was arrested in Sugarland, Texas earlier this month by US Marshals and RPD Major Crimes investigators and charged with second degree murder.

Police have not yet shared what they believe the motive of the killing was but did say they do not believe the two knew each other.
