Man injured in shooting on Jay Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man is injured but expected to survive after a shooting on Jay Street Tuesday night.

Police say they received a call just after 9:30 p.m. from a man on Jay Street near Saxton Street who said he was shot.

When officers arrived, they found a 51-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound to the lower body.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police say Jay Street will be closed between Orchard Street and Saxton Street for the investigation.
