ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A Rochester man whose arrest was caught on body camera video will spend 40 years in prison.
32-year-old Jarvis Lewis was sentenced today for criminal possession of a weapon, assault, and resisting arrest.
Police released this body camera video of his arrest back in June of 2021 on Remington Street.
“Possessing an illegal weapon is a serious offense, even more so as a violent predicate offender,” said Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley. “Jarvis Lewis’ sentencing today was just and deserved. He now has a very long time in the Department of Corrections to think about the crimes he committed.”
At the time, police said he was wanted in connection to two shootings and was armed with a gun when they confronted him. The conviction stems from this incident, and one in May of 2021.
